Bihar Agricultural University, abbreviated as BAU, is a public agricultural university based in Sabour, Bhagalpur district of Bihar. Established in the year 2010: i.e. an autonomous organization, which is under the Department of Agriculture, Government of Bihar. The university has four constituent colleges that carry out the running of the undergraduate and postgraduate programs in the fields of crop and horticultural production, animal husbandry and aquaculture. We have two main courses which are the BSc. Agriculture and MSc. Agriculture.

BSc Agriculture is a 4-year degree course that is designed to cater both the fundamental knowledge and professional requirements. The subjects include crop production, soil science, agricultural economics, and extension education. It is 2-year long Master in the field of agriculture comprising of specializations such as agronomy, agricultural economics, plant pathology and others. The university presents its teaching terms in the semester system and the exam period is held twice per year, which is in December and May.

Bihar Agricultural University

- Being established in the year 2010 by bifurcating from the Rajendra Agricultural University.

- Undergraduate, as well as Postgraduate programs in agriculture, horticulture, animal husbandry, fisheries science, home science, and agricultural engineering, to mention a few.

- It is composed of more than one college distribuated in various sectors of Bihar; Sabour, Bhagalpur, Kishanganj, Begusarai among others.

- An approximate number of 4000 overall students. Over 150 faculty members.

- Being the main campus it is located at Sabour, which is approximately 15 km from Bhagalpur town. This sprawl encompasses more than a few acres and has amenities like the library, hostels, regional research centers, and many more.

- Conducts agri related researches with respect to Bihar as well as runs extension activities in the farming fields like rice, wheat, etc. 

- The main things that get lighted in the project are the new improved Bihar varieties of crops cultivations, and the better use of farming advices and technologies for the farmers of the state.

Bihar Agricultural University Admission Process

- BAU is multi-disciplinary institute imparting knowledge in up- to-date agricultural, horticulture and animal sciences at undergraduate, postgraduate and doctorate levels.

- With regard to undergraduate programs, admission is on merit basis on the qualifying exam. Such an exam can be held after intermediate or class 12th, where science is studied as a major. Certain courses have a cut off list in which you need to pass before joining.

- For postgraduate programs you will need a work related bachelor's degree. Entrance test score that is combined with academic record and successful interview being used to place students.

- The Admission Committee conducts the screening tests by BAU. Main exams are the BCET test for UG progrms and the PGCET test of PG progrms.

- Registration of applicants takes place at an online portal of the university where candidates submit the form, provide the required information and upload the necessary documents. Online, reason for application fee also has to be submitted.

- Seat availability, reservations, and program eligibility lists are announced by the university ahead through a public statement disseminated before the admission cycle. 

- Admission process is continued till after the results from the entrance exam is out which is followed by referring of the candidates to programs and subjects according to merit, preference and availability. Documents are offered first, then, they are verified and the final admission follows.

1. Application Form

- The official web portal of Bihar Agricultural University (i.e. www.baus.edu.in)is the best source of information if you would like additional details.

- Visit the admission portal and download the application form for the program you want to obtain admission in it.

2. Fill in the application form 

- Make sure you comply with all the details required in the form by providing real information. Make sure that you select the particular program or degree.

- Attach the copies of all appendixes like, Educational certificates, Category certificates if required etc.

3. Application Fees

- There is a certain amount of fee that must be paid at applicant stage. The fees table shows the cost of various programs, which is what determines the overall cost.

- Online mode is also applicable here or also you can pay by demand draft. Please check your payment details attentively before you finalize the payment.

4. Submit the Form

- The application with the filled in app form (and required documents and fees) has to be submitted within the deadline. - Rectification: The application, with the filled app form (and the supporting documents and the receipt of the fees) should get submitted by the deadline. Submissions dated beyond the specified deadline may be dismissed.

5. Entrance Tests 

- Likewise, when you apply for BSc Agriculture or MSc, you may need to take some entrance tests conducted by the University. 

- The admit card for the eligible candidates will be available 10 days before the scheduled date. Prepare accordingly.

6. Counselling  

- On the other hand, counselling rounds are an essential part of a long list of candidates when their virtual presence won't be considered enough. You must also do any rounds that may be included.
