Bihar Agricultural University, abbreviated as BAU, is a public agricultural university based in Sabour, Bhagalpur district of Bihar. Established in the year 2010: i.e. an autonomous organization, which is under the Department of Agriculture, Government of Bihar. The university has four constituent colleges that carry out the running of the undergraduate and postgraduate programs in the fields of crop and horticultural production, animal husbandry and aquaculture. We have two main courses which are the BSc. Agriculture and MSc. Agriculture.

BSc Agriculture is a 4-year degree course that is designed to cater both the fundamental knowledge and professional requirements. The subjects include crop production, soil science, agricultural economics, and extension education. It is 2-year long Master in the field of agriculture comprising of specializations such as agronomy, agricultural economics, plant pathology and others. The university presents its teaching terms in the semester system and the exam period is held twice per year, which is in December and May.

Bihar Agricultural University

- Being established in the year 2010 by bifurcating from the Rajendra Agricultural University.

Bihar Agricultural University Admission Process

- BAU is multi-disciplinary institute imparting knowledge in up- to-date agricultural, horticulture and animal sciences at undergraduate, postgraduate and doctorate levels.

- With regard to undergraduate programs, admission is on merit basis on the qualifying exam. Such an exam can be held after intermediate or class 12th, where science is studied as a major. Certain courses have a cut off list in which you need to pass before joining.

- For postgraduate programs you will need a work related bachelor's degree. Entrance test score that is combined with academic record and successful interview being used to place students.

- The Admission Committee conducts the screening tests by BAU. Main exams are the BCET test for UG progrms and the PGCET test of PG progrms.

- Registration of applicants takes place at an online portal of the university where candidates submit the form, provide the required information and upload the necessary documents. Online, reason for application fee also has to be submitted.

- Seat availability, reservations, and program eligibility lists are announced by the university ahead through a public statement disseminated before the admission cycle. 

- Admission process is continued till after the results from the entrance exam is out which is followed by referring of the candidates to programs and subjects according to merit, preference and availability. Documents are offered first, then, they are verified and the final admission follows.

5. Entrance Tests
