UKPSC JE or the Uttarakhand Public Service Commission Junior Engineer is a examination held by UKPSC through which people are hired for the post of Junior Engineer (civil) in state government organizations. The exam is focused mainly on engineering and general knowledge of the candidates. Like other state PCS exams, UKPSC JE exam consists of two parts – preliminary and mains. This is an objective type paper of 200 marks which assess the general awareness, computing ability and the technical knowledge of the students. Candidates who cross the cut off of prelims sit for the mains which is also an objective and descriptive type paper that tests the main branch knowledge of civil engineering, mechanic and structure analysis.
The UKPSC JE exam is one of the most competitive PSC recruitment examination in the state among all the exams. In the year 2022, the prelims exam was conducted in which more than 13200 candidates appeared, and only 645 candidates got passed to appear for the mains stage out of 283 total vacancies. The final combined merit list is declared category-wise on the basis of marks scored in mains.
