The Staff Selection Commission Scientific Exam (SSC Scientific Exam) administered by the Staff Selection Commission (SSC) is an entrance test used by the SSC to hire candidates for scientific posts in various ministries, departments, and organisations under the Government of India. The test is supposed to recruit officers into the groups ‘B’ (Non-Gazetted) and ‘C’ (Non-Technical) and posts like chemist, geologist, junior scientific officer and others. SSC Scientific exam has two papers - Paper I is objective type question paper that tries candidates on components like General Intelligence & Reasoning , Quantitative Aptitude and English Language while Paper II consists of questions related to the candidates' discipline knowledge in respective disciplines like Physics, Chemistry, Statistics, etc.
On the other hand, the SSC Scientific exam is also as competitive as it seems to as much as lakhs of candidates appearing for a very small number of vacancies every year. Accordingly, the SSC Scientific (Tier I) exam 2024 is planned to be conducted in May of 2024, as per the calendar of exam dates. After that, the results of the elections are projected to be announced in June-July of 2024. From the chosen candidates, the tier II descriptive paper would be an evaluation. The last choice will be from candidates displaying their capabilities in Tier 1 and Tier 2 exams and their documentation verification. The SSC will come up with the official notification including details like date of the exam, no. of vacancies, selection process etc. around 2-3 months prior to exam date.
