The examination is conducted by the Staff Selection Commission for Junior Engineering (SSC JE) Mechanical Engineering post to appoint candidates in various Central Government departments. The SSC JE Mechanical Test comprises of Computer Based Test (CBT) and Writing Ability Test (WAT) for aspirants cleared CBT. Candidates answer questions in Engineering Mechanics, Strength of Materials, Thermodynamics, Theory of Machines, Production Engineering, Engineering Drawing etc. in CBT exam. 

SSC JE Mechanical CBT is the objective type question paper with multiple choices category. 2022, the CBT of the SSC JE exam was conducted in the month of January and the result was declared in March, just within 2 months. The last outcome is announced once the descriptive paper goes through evaluating and checking. Participants who have qualified screening are appointed as Junior Engineers in departments like CPWD, MES, CWC and Farakka Barrage Project.

With regard to the SSC JE Mechanical 2024, the recruitment notification will be out in Jul-Aug 2023. The computer based test will likely be in January 2024 and the other one in July. Students who sit for the CBT exam can expect to have their results at the earliest by March 24. We conclude the contest in May-June 2024 by evaluating the sense-making essays after which the winners will be announced.
