The Staff Selection Commission Junior Engineer (SSC JE) Civil exam is conducted each year by the Staff Selection Commission to recruit candidates for Junior Engineer positions in various Civil Engineering types across ministries/ departments of the Indian Government. The exam comprises of a computer-based test in which the twin civil engineering subjects like structural engineering, Geo-technical engineering, transportation engineering, environmental engineering, etc. are tested.

The SSC JE Civil is one of the most popular engineering exams in India as it offers the most desirable of Government jobs. This is being witnessed by huge numbers of engineers aspirants appearing for the exam every year. The test is going to be conducted in various parts of the country in different shifts. This process will continue for 5-6 days. Thus, the merit list is being prepared taking into account the applicants' scores in the entrance exam. A few selected candidates are called for document verification and medical fitness to be employed on a permanent basis among many.

As per the exam schedule, the SSC JE Civil 2024, is most likely to be notified and conducted in the month of October-November in the year 2024. The examination date and city assignment is often declared, on the average, 2 months before the exam. As for 2024 SSC JE result, the candidates are likely to be on the receiving end by January 2025.
