SRMAT is the one which is conducted by the SRM University of Science and Technology for the purpose of candidates' entrance into the undergraduate engineering and allied programs. SRM University offers SRMCAT, his stands for SRM Common Admission Test. It is computer based test having questions from Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics/Biology, and English Proficiency area. The overall time for the test is 2 hours 30 minutes. 

The SRMCAT exam measures the students' ability related to the fundamental knowledge and skill in the respective subject which is necessary for the upcoming technical education. It is officers are given exams in multiple sessions per year, which is usually between February and July. The result can be announced right within the a week of the testing. Students are at the need to pass cut-off marks that may differ depending on a program and category. If met, the students would be eligible for counseling and admission.

The beginning of SRMCAT 2024 registration can be expected in November 2023, according to a estimation. According to the precedent for previous yearly sessions, that of 2024 is scheduled to be held in the last week of February. A series of sessions will be conducted for about 2 years until the end of the academic session by July 2024 for the new batch.
