The Pre University Institute Entrance Test (PIET) is one of the entrance examinations that is conducted by different Pre-University Institute in the country for the admission of students into the universities to study engineering and architecture. The PIET is ranked among the toughest admission examination that students sit for to be offered a chance to study at an undergraduate level. It assesses students on areas such as physics, chemistry, mathematics, and architecture using Multiple choice questions and Descriptive answers. It is conducted every year in the months of April or May at the various examination centers, all over India.

It is observed that the level of the PIET has been constantly rising along with a trend of more and more students applying for limited number of seats. In the case of the PIET 2024 the proposed examination days are 15th and 16th April, 2024. After the exam, the candidates wait for the results to be declared which is expected to be declared in the last week of May of every year on the official website. Students who are qualified to write the exams based on their cut off PIET scores attend the counseling sessions in June – July to be placed in the institute of their choice that accepts PIET scores such as IITs, NITs, IIIT, State engineering college and so on. The exam pattern for PIET 2024 and the syllabi will be out by November 2023.

How to Apply for PIET Exam 2024?

1. Registration – Since this is an academic year program, the registration process often begins in August/September 2023. For registration-related information, refer to the official PIET website for its updates.

2. Online Registration – For the registration process, you need to go through the online form of PIET and need to fill that before the last registration date and for that, you need to pay registrations fees.

3. Uploading Documents - Once the form is filled in, upload photo copy of necessary documents such as photograph, signature, age proof etc. The scanning format should be as per the prescribed size.

4. Admit Card - After your application is approved, you can download your PIET admit card or hall ticket from the website several weeks before the exam’s date. 

5. Exam Centers – Tick the box where you want to take the exam from the list of cities available where the exam can be conducted.

6. Syllabus – The syllabus and the pattern of examination for PIET is available on the official website of the institution and all the subjects mentioned in the syllabus should be studied in detail.

7. Results – Results of various examinations of PIET are generally announced in May/June. Students are required to check the result date and obtain their scorecard from the website.
