The PGIMER January exam, which is conducted through the online mode to the national level, is an annual January national level entrance exam inviting applications from the candidates for admissions into various post-graduate MD/MS and DM/MCh courses at the PGIMER institute in Chandigarh. It is so competitive, over years more than 40 thousand graduates enter it. The 4-hour exam is made up of multiple-choices for subjects such as anatomy, physiology, biochemistry, pathology, pharmacology, forensic medicine, general medicine, general surgery, ex-surgical, obstetrics, and gynecology. The test is merely one phase, not connected to the separate interviews. The declaration of results includes the state boared exams for which usually occur within a month after the exam. Selected students should be talking to an online counsellor for adjustment of their seats. For 2024 the examination dates for PGIMER probably will be released near December and regarding the time of the exams, just like in the previous exams which were held in the second or third week of January every year. The number of seats and subjects keep on fluctuating from year to year covering MD/MS/DM/MCh Program based on the approval of the Medical Council of India in various sessions. The strength of students range between 650 to 750 in total across various subjects.
