NVS Stenographer examination is organized by Navodaya Vidyalaya Samiti to fill the vacancies of Stenographer Grade-II in Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalayas across the country. The exam includes a written test with subjects as General Intelligence & Reasoning, General Awareness, English Language & comprehension, and Numerical Aptitude. Performance in the written examination determines the candidates who are selected to proceed to the Stenography skill test.
This is a skill test which includes stenography dictation for ten minutes and then writing notes taken from a computer for fifty minutes. The candidates have to transcribe at least 80 words per minute in English or Hindi as per their chosen preferred language. Thus, the final applicant list is compiled by summing the marks obtained in the written exam and stenography exam.
