National Board Examination for Foreign Engineering Graduates (NBE FET) is a test, which is organized by the National Board of Examinations (NBE) in India to check if foreign graduates in engineering are proficient enough. In fact, they apply for jobs or higher education in India. The primary objective of the Foreign Engineering and Technology (FET) Act is to explore the feasibility of an equivalence between foreign and Indian engineering qualifications. It examines knowledge in three most important fields - engineering mathematics, engineering sciences, and engineering practice.
The computer-based FET testing system has 180 questions in multiple-choice and takes 3 hours to complete. It is held biannually, and it does a comprehensive evaluation of basic engineering theories as well as principles. The marking is out of 300 marks, with 150 as the minimum threshold criteria. The outcomes of the test generally get known after a month of the test.
For the year 2024, NBE has released a schedule showing two potential FET exam sessions. The first FET 2024 examination will be held on the 24th of March 2024, with the result expected to be released by April 30, 2024. Exam date is September 16, 2024. The result will be revealed by October 31, 2024. The date of registration will be 45-60 days advance after which the ‘NBE’ website would display the yearly test dates. In addition to this, the prep kit comes with sample papers and manual guides.
