The Jammu and Kashmir Common Entrance Test (JKCET) is a state-level entrance exam conducted annually by the Jammu and Kashmir Board of Professional Entrance Examinations (JKBOPEE) for admission into various undergraduate engineering, architecture and pharmacy courses offered by government and private institutes in Jammu, Kashmir and Ladakh. JKCET is considered one of the toughest entrance exams with only 15- 20% qualifying rate. The exam tests students on subjects like physics, chemistry and mathematics up to the 12th standard syllabus of JKBOSE, CBSE and other state boards.
Over 25,000 students appear for the exam every year competing for over 3,500 engineering and pharmacy seats across the state. JKCET 2023 is scheduled on May 20-21. The results are usually declared in the first week of June. Selected candidates then participate in counselling rounds for seat allotment. Registration for JKCET 2024 is expected to start in February 2024. The exam dates for JKCET 2024 will be announced by JKBOPEE later in the year 2023 most likely in November or December 2023 along with the information brochure.
