The Indian Navy SSR exam also known as Senior Secondary Recruits exam is conducted by the Indian Navy to select sailors for various branches and entries of Indian Naval Forces. It is conducted twice in a year and is one of the most competitive examination in defense in India. The SSR exam will be conducted in four categories, namely, Intelligence / Reasoning, Numerical Ability, General English, General Knowledge. The qualifying process is that the candidates would have to clear all the sections that are set for them. The exam is multiple-choice with an option of negative marking in case the candidate gets a question wrong. Those aspiring to be given the slots must undergo medical examinations and physical fitness test before the final selection. The Indian Navy has released a notice regarding the next SSR examination, which is proposed to be conducted in March 2024. However, the specific dates for the exams will be released in future on the official website joinindiannavy.gov.in. Usually, the results are advertised within one to two months after the written examination. The successful candidates shall join the training at INS Chilka for preliminary training and get practical training based on the trade allotted to him/her. SSR entry gives a chance to work for the nation as well as aspiring towards building a brighter future in the Indian Navy.
