The Institute of Banking Personnel Selection (IBPS) is a reputed examinations conducting body that organizes the IBPS Specialist Officer (SO) examination annually, to recruit candidates for different specialist officer positions in public sector banks in India. Banking exam like the IBPS SO comprises of online tests and interviews in which the preliminary exam and the main exam are both online examinations. The first stage of the examination is the Preliminary Examination, which has questions related to current affairs, the English language, basic logical reasoning, and basic numeracy and is an MCQ type of examination, where the candidate must score a minimum passing marks to be qualified for the next level. Those who score it, can sit for the main examination where questions are framed on professional knowledge pertaining to the specialist cadre for which the candidate has applied such as IT Officer, Agricultural Field Officer, Law Officer, etc. 

This means that the IBPS SO exam date in 2024 will also be announced in a similar pattern of the previous years and so the prelims exam could be expected in December 2023/January 2024. Candidates who are going to appear for prelims may expect the result to be out by February in 2024. Main examination that could be conducted in January-February 2024 and interview round in March-April 2024. The final merit list and the provisional allotment is expected to be by May 2024. 1. Registration: The applicant can access the official IBPS website through www.ibps.in After getting on the homepage, click on the IBPS SO online application link. Basic registration can be performed on the website, where one needs to provide the personal information such as name, contact details etc.

2. Pay Application Fee: It is possible to pay the application fees online through options such as debit & credit card and internet banking etc. The application fees of general category is Rs. 750/-. There are reduced fee structures for SC / ST / PWD candidates.
