GLSID DAT (Design Aptitude Test), organized by GLS Institute of Design, is a National Level Entrance Examination that is conducted by many design programs for the admission to the undergraduate and post graduate programs of GLS Institute of Design at Ahmedabad, Gujarat. The DAT checks a candidate's ability to think creatively, observe things meticulously, communicate effectively, and have a good aesthetic sense. The DAT is a 125 multiple-choice question paper, pen and paper-test split into 5 sections, each carrying equal weightage allocated across - Visualisation and Spatial Ability, Environmental and Social Awareness, Communication and Design Thinking, Drawing Skills, and Observation Skills. The exam collects data on inventiveness as the students culture their idea through images, critical thinking questions, shapes observation, and drawing analysis tools.
By the recently made announcement, we stand to conduct the DAT for the year 2024 in the period of the second week of February in the year 2024. DAT comes once a month and the results are published no later than a month after the exam. A few selected students will be invited to attend college counseling sessions in March and April, and those who qualify will be offered admission at the approved GLS Institute for the upcoming academic session beginning 2024-25. The last year's results can be checked online at the institute's website once they are formally made available through each administered DAT exam cycle.
