Goa Common Entrance Test

The Goa Common Entrance Test (GCET) is the state-level entrance examination conducted by the Directorate of Technical Education, Goa, for admission into professional degree courses in the state. The GCET aims to assess a candidate's suitability to pursue technical and professional education programs offered by various colleges in Goa. The GCET exam consists of multiple choice objective-type questions covering Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics, and Biology subjects for different streams. It is typically a 3-hour long pen and paper based test. Some premier institutes like BITS Pilani, Goa Campus also accept GCET scores for engineering admissions.

The GCET results are usually declared within a month of the entrance exam. In 2023, the GCET exam is scheduled to be conducted from May 8-10 while in 2024, the tentative exam dates would be in the first or second week of May. The results would be declared most likely by the first week of June for respective years. Students qualifying in the GCET exam and meeting required cut-offs can seek admission into degree programs like MBBS, BDS, B.E, B.Pharm, among others offered at various colleges affiliated with Goa University as well as private institutions based on counselling and merit.
