DU BEd Entrance Exam is an annual exam which is taken by the University of Delhi for finalizing candidates to continue their Bachelors in Education (BEd) degree. It is considered one of the most difficult examinations for perusing BEd with a number of about 60,000 to 100,000 candidates annually standing a chance to get selected by only 1,000 seats across its 9 BEd colleges.
This DU BEd entrance examination is meant to evaluate a candidate's teaching efficacy, cognitive ability, general understanding, and language mastery through a written test. The exam consists of objective type multiple choice questions having a total of 400 marks. This consists of four sections viz., General Awareness, Language Proficiency either in Hindi or English, Logical & Analytical Reasoning Ability and Teaching Ability to gauge the candidate's suitability for this profession.
The minimum criterion to qualify for a DU BEd programme is attaining 50% in the overall score at graduation level. Normally the procedure starts in the May every year on the official website and all the admit cards are published 2-3 weeks before the examination. The test is commenced in July and is held at Delhi testing centers; the results of which are usually announced in August-September. Counselling and document verification hence become the last phases of the admission process after which students are admitted to the universities they have chosen. The DU admission schedule for BEd batch of 2024 has not been declared yet and shall only be made available on the official site when the schedule is out towards the year end next.
