The DRDO JTO exam is a recruitment examination organized by the Defence Research and Development Organisation (DRDO) for the selection of candidates in the Junior Translation Officer post . A major part of the job at JTO is to translate texts from English to Hindi as well as from Hindi to English. The DRDO JTO exam comprises of two papers: Paper – I is in objective type that is to assess the general ability, general English, general Hindi and translation ability, Paper – II will be in descriptive type in which the candidates have to translate the English passage into Hindi and the Hindi passage into English.
The DRDO JTO 2024 notification will be released between June and September, 2024 . The exam dates should be in late 2023 or early 2024 as it will take the candidates sometimes to prepare for any of the exam once they register. The selection procedure for the post is based on merit through an interview after the notification is out, and the candidates interested and eligible for the post are those who hold a graduate degree and are below 28 years of age. It is known that the selection process includes a written test, translation test as well as the personal interview. The final answer key along with the list of the selected candidates is declared on the DRDO official website after few months of the written test. Those who are finally recommended for the job are trained and deployed to various DRDO laboratories to perform translation chores in line with the Hindi implementation needs. It is an interesting job with reasonable working hours, a reasonable wage and fair allowances as offered to the government employees.
