The national level test of Dr DY Patil University - DPU AIBTCET for undergraduate Biotechnology and Bioinformatics is conducted by Dr DY Patil University, Pune for admission to its Biotechnology and Bioinformatics programs. The highly competitive exam aims to identify and admit the most meritorious students from across India to these programs at the University.

The DPU AIBTCET is computer-based and is almost always conducted either in May or June of each year, aiming at testing students' knowledge on Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics and Biology subjects which are all up to the 12th level. The test comprises of 180 multiple-choice objective questions to be solved in 180 minutes. Paper is divided into four parts carrying questions aimed at determining the level of understanding of the concepts and the ability to perform the tasks relative to the four subjects.

The DPU AIBTCET 2024 exam date is expected to be announced by February 2024 by the University. Soon after the examination is held, the outcomes are released after 3-4 weeks. Selected candidates then go through counseling process for admission to the Biotechnology/Bioinformatics courses hosted by the Dr DY Patil School in Pune. The University aims to complete the entire admission process by July every year prior to new academic session commencing in August. The competition is tough, with over 15,000 appearing for about 120 seats out of which about 100 are reserved for OBC, SC/ST, and minorities.
