The Judicial Services examination is conducted by the Bihar Public Service Commission also known as BPSC to provide the posts of Civil Judge in Bihar state. This is a three-tier test, beginning with the Preliminary exam, followed by the Main exam, and the last stage is the Interview. In the case of SSC, there is the preliminary exam that is used to filter the candidates to offer the main exam, and their exams include General Knowledge, Law, Logical Reasoning etc. The examination that follows is the written examination where candidates are tested on their understanding of various laws and procedures. The candidates who qualify the written examination are further shortlisted for interview to determine their general fitness for the judicial services .
The final level of assessment is the sum of the marks obtained by candidates in the main written test and the interview. The final result for the course was released in 2022 and candidates were informed of their results within 3 months of the main examination. While, the notification for the post of Judicial Services exam of the year 2024 may possibly be released in mid of 2023. The preliminary exam may be administered in or about November 2023. The main written exam and interview are most probably be conducted in the first half of 2024. The final result is still unclear, but it can be expected by mid-2024. BPSC will release the dates for the exams in a later date as well as the time schedules. A large pool of candidates including the legal education pass outs sit for this esteemed examination every year.

1. Proof of age/date of birth: The Date of Birth, can be provided with the tenth class certificate or mark sheet.
2. Educational/Professional qualifications certificates: A transcript showing his / her completion of Bachelor’s degree in Law and mark sheets.
3. Domicile certificate: They include domicile certificate of Bihar issued by any competent revenue authority of Bihar.
4. Caste certificate: Cancelled cheque with account number and IFSC code of the bank, if applicable, in support of the category applied under.
5. PH/Disability certificate: Disability certificate issued by competent medical authority in case the candidate is availing reservation under PH category.
6. No Objection Certificate: NOC from employer if working in state/central government organization or holding a state/central government job.
