The Bihar Elementary Teacher Eligibility Test (BETET) is a state level competitive examination for the recruitment of teachers for classes I to VIII in any government schools in Bihar for the academic year 2017-18 conducted by Bihar School Examination Board (BSEB). In 2021, BETET was established, and it replaced the previous qualification exam known as CTET or the Central Teacher Eligibility Test for prospective elementary school teachers.
The BETET is an off line test which is based on pencil and paper system and it test the candidates on child development, pedagogy, language ability etc which is essential for teaching the young students. These are: Paper 1 for Classes 1 to 5 and Paper 2 for Classes 5 to 8 and subjects include Child Psychology, Pedagogy, Maths, Environmental Studies etc.
