The Professional Graduate Teacher (PGT) exam is organized every year by the Army Welfare Education Society (AWES) for the purpose to recruit teachers in Army Public School. The AWES PGT exam is conducted for candidates for obtaining jobs as teachers in different subjects with specializations in Maths, English, Physics, Chemistry, Biology, History, Geography, Computer Science, and many more for classes 6 to 12.
AWES PGT exam is a two paper exam, where Paper I and Paper II are the two papers in it. In Paper I there are questions on teaching ability, basic information, English reading comprehension etc. In Paper II there are questions from the subject which a candidate has opted for teaching. The number of questions in each paper is 100 marks questions and the duration for the test is 2 hours.It is also important to note that there is a penalty for guessing; that is, one can lose marks for choices which are incorrect. Candidates who pass in both papers are short-listed depending on vacancies available within the company.
