Apart from commercial flying, non-commercial flight learning is the primary objective achieved in the residential part of the private pilot's license (PPL) course in India. The learning period of the course is expected to be around 6-8 months duration. It commences with the detailed session of classes which include the principles of flight, aircraft systems, navigation, meteorology, air regulations, aerodynamics and flight safety aspects. It is followed by flight training which is designed to teach you the aspects of aircraft preflight checks, taxiing, takeoffs and landings, emergency handling, navigation among others. 

The trainees need to incorporate 40 hours of time span for flying which consists of 10 hours of solo flight. From time to time, there are stage checks that provide a means of measurement. However, the written examination, which can be conducted by flight training centers or DGCA, and the final flight test will be taken by the trainees after they have completed the ground classes and the flying hours are completed. If you'll pass this stage, then you will the next one which is PPL by the DGCA. Some of the necessary requirements entail a Class 2 medical fitness certificate and minimum of 16 years.

Private Pilot License Eligibility

1. Age - Minimum requirements are 17 years for solo flying and 18 years to get the private pilot license.

2. Medical Status - FAA medical certificate with a proper validity is mandatory. In this, you must establish that you are healthy to the Aviation Medical Examiner who will do a physical exam supervised by the Federal Aviation Administration.

3. English skills are among the main requirements to obtain a job in the United States. The ability to read, write, speak, and understand English are all essential. This is a pre-condition so, you can convey your messages with other air traffic control respondent. 

4. TSA Security Clearance - This is the first thing you will encounter after getting an appointment on the flight training course. Criminal history record checks, done by the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI), will be performed for the security threat assessment.  

5. Knowledge Test - You will require an FAA knowledge test that assesses your demonstration of topics that include aviation rules, weather, navigation, etc. before you get your license.
