A Doctor of Pharmacy or Pharm.D in India is 6 year long professional program which aims at creating clinical pharmacists who will work in the field of pharmacy. The course includes 5 years of basic academic studies plus 1 year of internship which will give students an added advantage regarding career development. 

The primary four years are basis courses comprising of subjects on human anatomy, physiology, pathology, pharmaceutical chemistry, pharmacognosy, pharmacology, pharmaceutical jurisprudence, and biochemistry. Pharm.D Admission Process

1. Bachelor's degree in pharmacy with minimum 60% percentage marks having been passed from recognized university is the need of the day. Good academic record important. 

2. To qualify in pharmacy entrance exams such as GPAT, NIPER, kindly refer to the drugs and therapies. These high marks will give the applicant an edge in applying to the most selective schools.

Pharm.D Eligibility

1. 10+2 or equivalent science stream with Physics, Chemistry and Biology/maths. 

2. Lessening aggregate 50% marks for Regular (40% for reserved category) of 10+2.

3. Highly competitive exam which determines the qualification into pharmacy colleges at national, state or institute levels.

4. The course runs for 6 academic of which five are spent in study while the other year is the clinical posting.

5. The course is covering pharmaceutics as well as medicinal chemistry, pharmacology or pharmacy practice; as well as the specialization are included.
