The MSc Agricultural is a 2-year full-time program that is targeted towards the development of a strong, comprehensive background of the agricultural economics concepts and policy matters in India. There are courses covering the economics of micro and macro, marketing of agriculture, pricing analysis, planning and management of projects, research methods, agricultural finance and economic resource natural as related to agriculture.

Students deal with the issues like production economics, agriculture marketing, farm management, agricultural finance, agricultural policy analysis, econometrics, statistics, and natural resource economics taking one year to go through the course. Through teaching students about market dynamics, the course goes to lengths of formulating data driven solutions to tackling challenges in the Indian agriculture.

M.Sc Agricultural Economics Eligibility

1. Bachelor's degree in agriculture or allied disciplines: Candidates need to possess a bachelor's degree with a strong background in agricultural subjects like agriculture, agribusiness, or agricultural economics, or they should have a related degree like economics, business administration etc.

2. Minimum percentage in bachelor's degree: A young person looking for an opportunity in PhD studies must usually have more 50-60% aggregate marks or have a grade which is the same as his/her bachelor’s degree. Some colleges might require a higher% to be done.

3. Entrance test: Many colleges compel those would-be students to sit through these competitive exams such as ICAR NET, MCAER PG CET etc. 

4. Work experience: Some colleges reserve a weightage for the candidates who have already done 2-3 years of job in agriculture, agribusiness, research or teaching, which can also influence their admission in the best of the colleges.

5. Interview: Also his overall performance in the entrance test is not the only criterion. His personal interview is also an important round where the final selection for admission is made. 

6. English proficiency scores: Those candidates who have completed their previous degrees in a foreign language within are expected to attain minimum English proficiency scores on test of IELTS/ TOEFL as a prerequisite.

ICAR AIEEA PG: The Indian Council of Agricultural Research holds an All India Entrance Examination for Admission Post Graduate is Agricultural Sciences, where its candidates' knowledge about Agricultural Economics is tested for the purpose of admission to MSc Agricultural Economics programs.

ICAR JRF/SRF
: The ability of the ICAR JRF/SRF to assess research aptitude as well as subject knowledge in agricultural economics for MSc and doctor of philosophy programs especially for research is one of its advantages.

GATE (Agricultural Engineering): The Engineering Graduate Aptitude Test comprises the agricultural engineering course which covers the economics of Agriculture and is essential for MSc Agricultural Economics admissions.
