The 2-year postgraduate degree in taxation law (LLM) aims to provide a solid foundation of complex legal concepts of taxation that students can apply in their respective professional fields in India. The students get to grips with both the direct and indirect tax systems, along with topics concerning tax planning, international taxation, corporate taxation and legal battles surrounding taxes.

The curriculum covers core courses which have the tax principles sections, income tax, service tax, GST (Goods and services tax) and the tax planning and management using case studies. High level courses entail international taxation, double taxation to be avoided, tax incentives, tax havens, tax litigation & procedures. In addition to that students should pass a dissertation on an urgent research issue in tax law as well.

LLM Taxation Law Course Eligibility 2024

1. Get a (BA, BS, etc.) undergraduate degree from an approved college or university (generic accredited college or university where you can major in anything). Most colleges are of a tenure of 4 years.

2. Make an LSAT test the Law School Entrance Exam (LSAC). Taking application fees is a strategy used by most law schools for the consideration of admission. Study and prepare for the test thoroughly to score well in the test.

3. See to it that your application was perfected. The next step should be to apply to and get accepted by an accredited law school. The intake of the majority of students is 3 years of JD (Juris Doctor). The application for a master degree at a Bar covering university on the whole serves as a precondition for getting into one after getting into a top law school.

4. Be law school champions, especially in elective courses that build the tax class. You need taxation, business law, etc. that he already studies. Achievement of good grades is what will put you in the right way to the future LLM program.  

5. Take all necessary steps to secure your JD and choose taxation and business law courses as best as you can. This is evidence that you have already chosen to narrow down your field of study to the tax law.

6. Once you obtain the JD degree, apply to master programs at law schools that specialize in taxation law. Number one schools are highly competitive, therefore it is necessary to have a strong record in the law school and JD classes. The scores are given were average as the scale was 7- 9.

7. I want to gain the necessary skills and knowledge for an LLM Tax Law program so that I can fully participate in it. Programs normally consist of a 1-year session for regular JD holders.

8. The LLM course is an integral part of your academics, acquire it with a specialization in the taxation law, including research.

9. Be a specialist in tax law with an LLM in Taxation Law, a degree which you will need to become a lawyer.
