MA Animation is a 2-year postgraduate course that aims to teach students the artistic side of animation filmmaking and the know-how of the animation filmmaking process. It includes 2D and 3D animation software like Maya, Flash, After Effects, and Harmony Toon Boom, just to name a few. Also, the courses encompassed animation principles such as squash-stretch, timing, arcs, secondary action, and other components.
Students get the chance to learn the core animation principles, concepts of storyboards, design characters, draw the backgrounds, and make the layout planning. They learn how to take an animation piece from a pitch moment to the storytelling, down to all the finishing post-production methods. In the classes taught both conventional 2D Animation as well as 3D CGI Animation are covered.

1. To be an eligible applicant one must have hold a bachelor's degree in animation, fine arts, design or an equivalent.

1. A Bachelor's degree in any field of art, design, architecture, mass communication, etc. is sufficient for being qualified. Many colleges admit students having a minimum pass percentage of 50% in graduation. Some successful cases can be an employer's experience in place of academic credentials.
2. A portfolio that includes work in various art forms is necessary for students from non-design background. This includes sketches, drawings, paintings, animations, films and others to identify artistic potential by the admission process.
3. Qualifying for CEED or DAT Preliminary test, which are the entry requirements if the institute does its own form of screening to test creative, drawing, communication and other important skills is often measured out of 100 or 200.
4. A Statement of Purpose describes exactly what drives the applicant to choose animation, particular directions and career goals within this field of study. From this, admission specialists can see candidate’s frame of mind regarding the seriousness of studies.
5. The applicant's potential of undertaking the course well should be confirmed by positive, well-written recommendation letters from their former academicians, employers, or experts in the relevant field.

NID DAT: National Institute of Design - Design Aptitude Test assesses creativity, problem-solving skills, observation, and visualization abilities.
