Instrumentation Engineering Diploma is a diploma level course that has a duration of 3 years and the study is based in the field of instrumentation and control engineering. This course offers various training in areas such as; process control, design and development of instruments, measurement, and control of various process variables like flow, temperature, pressure, level, etc. Diploma curriculum primarily covers theoretical knowledge and practical training of process control equipment, sensors, transmitters, microprocessors.
The normal length of the course is three academic years consisting of six semesters in Diploma in Instrumentation Engineering. There are also some institutes which provide lateral entry facilities where the students who have done ITI can seek direct admission for second semester of the diploma course. Some of the entrance exams that are recognized for taking admission in instrumentation engineering diploma programs are JCECE (Jharkhand Common Entrance Competitive Examination), Polytechnic Common Entrance Test of the particular state in which the particular college.
