The program of BVSc (Bachelor of Veterinary Science) in Veterinary Pathology is a 4.5-year long one which is the core of the studies of disease mechanisms in animals. Through laboratory investigations, students are able to not only figure out the cause for the disease but also figure out ways of prevention and treatment.

The first 3 years particularly give us base knowledge in important veterinary sciences such as anatomy, physiology, biochemistry and livestock production as well as animal management and nutrition. Students not only study pathology but also the techniques and ways of disease investigation through lab experiments and cases studies. 

BVSc Veterinary Pathology Admission 2024

1. The candidate must complete their 10+2 or its equivalence in science stream(Physics, Chemistry, Biology) with minimum 60% marks from a board recognized by the central government. Math is one of the mandatory subjects in 10+2 syllabus.

2. Attend at relevant entrance exam like NEET, AIEEA etc. which are compulsory for getting BVSc admission. The competitors' scores from such tests are to be taken into serious consideration.

3. Make an application to the institutions VCI approves and offers to do Vet Pathology as a specialization; for instance, the College of Veterinary Science, Punjab. 

4. BVSc program covers a period of 5.5 years, that is 1st 4.5 years are studies in classroom and then the rest 1 year is for the internship program. The subjects covered encompass human body structure (anatomy), body processes (physiology), biochemistry, and pathology (pathology).

5. Finally, the last year students are required to undertake a research project in pathology as part of the coursework component. The program not only covers theory but also provides practical clinical training too.

6. Apart from the degree completion, it would be possible for the students to work as veterinary pathologists in hospitals and research institutes as well as pharmaceutical. For instance, Masters' degrees and PhD studies are the next stage of further specialization becoming more in-depth.

BVSc Veterinary Pathology Course Eligibility 2024

1. 10+2 in Physics, Chemistry, Biology and English combination with the minimum 50% aggregate marks from a recognized board.

2. Which already offers similar eligibility criteria for NEET qualified candidates.

3. The candidate should have been at least 17 years old the year the course begins, or will be 17 or older on or before 31st December of the year of his/ or her admission to the 1st year of the course.

4. The age bar of none above 23 years is not a issue in Bachelor of Veterinary Science and Veterinary Pathology Course.

5. The National Institute of Open School applicants with Physics, Chemistry, Biology and English at 10+2 level are among the groups of students who also satisfy the conditions to be admitted in this course. 

BVSc Veterinary Pathology Entrance Exams

ICAR AIEEA: In the All India Entrance Examinations for Admission (AIEEA) administered by the Indian Council of Agricultural Research is the Veterinary Sciences and Animal Sciences section which has questions from Veterinary Pathology.

State-level Exams: Some of Indian states administer their own entrance exams for vet colleges, which might involve a veterinary pathology section.
