Bachelor of Veterinary Science (BVSc) and Animal Husbandry is a 5-year undergraduate degree program which provides training on various methods to prevent disease and disorders in animals. This program ensures the health, diagnosis, and treatment of diverse animal species. Microbiology for Vehemologist is an essential specialized subject included in the BVSc curriculum. 

One of the courses is veterinary microbiology and it is taught in two semesters that are at the third year of five-year BVSc program. Students are furnished with an introduction to principles of microbiology, virology, entomology, and immunology that are significant in veterinary science. The main ideas are on the cell structure, the classification and cultivation of all the microbes with the proper identification. Students also get to learn about the pathogenesis, laboratry diagnosis, treatment and prevention of the zoonotic diseases which occurs in pet animals, livestock, poultry and wildlife.

BVSc Veterinary Microbiology Admission 2024

1. Eligibility: 10 + 2 that consists of the subjects such as Physics, Biology Chemistry, and English; the aggregate mark obtained should not be below 50%. 

2. Admission Process: The selection completely relies on the candidates’ entrance tests, such as the NEET, state CET, or university tests. Besides, we do take the 10+2 exam marked scores into account too. 

3. Course Duration: With up to 5 years of study including 4.5 years of classroom studies and 6 months of internship. Credits required for completion should be about 240. 

4. Syllabus: It contains, such, subjects as anatomy, physiology, biochemistry, pharmacology, genetics, veterinary pathology, animal nutrition, veterinary parasitology, veterinary microbiology, veterinary virology, etc. 

5. Career Prospects: There are options for different kinds of jobs like in hospitals, Veterinary clinics, diagnostics laboratories, veterinary drug companies, dairy farms, poultry farms, animal feed industry etc. There are higher studies options too as well. 

BVSc Veterinary Microbiology Course Eligibility 2024

1. Eligibility: 10+2 or equivalent in the science stream from a recognized board/university with not less than 50 marks in Physics, Chemistry, Biology, and English.

2. Being qualified to attend the national level entrance exams like NEET consists of total of entrance test for medial field.

3. Some boards/institutions may also demand the score of entrance test for the state and university levels along with a valid score of NEET.

4. Even the reserved category students may be entitled to different percentages as university rules and government regulations allow. 

5. There have to be internship programs that is completed compulsorily as per the Veterinary Council of India (VCI) or in the State Veterinary Council before the course begins.

ICAR AIEEA: Indian Council of Agricultural Research organizes All India Entrance Examination for Admission (AIEEA) which has a section on Veterinary and Animal Science that includes a microbiology section, covering microbiology topics.
