The Bachelor of Veterinary Science and Animal Husbandry (BVSc & AH) in Livestock Production and Management is a 4.5-year degree program focused on the scientific study of animal health, diseases, nutrition, breeding, genetics, and production management.
The course is composed of modules like veterinary physiology, anatomy, pharmacology, biochemistry, pathology, parasitology, microbiology, medicine, surgery, radiology, animal genetics and breeding, livestock production systems, livestock economics, dairy technology and food along practical and clinical training.
1. Admission is through a national-level entrance exam conducted by veterinary universities and colleges. We measure your proficiency in biology, chemistry, physics, and aptitude.
2. Eligibility requires 10+2 science stream with physics, chemistry, biology with 50% aggregate marks. To others 5 percent is given as a relaxation for keeping reservation.
3. The course duration is 4.5 years plus 1-year internship. The students will learn how to take care of animals, properties of diseases, nutrition, genetics, production and economy to improve animal production, therefore, the farmers' income.
4. The program includes active learning through lab experiments, farm visits, case studies, and research projects. The students also undertake concurrent vet houses practice during their internship.
5. Career prospects exist in government livestock development departments, breeding farms, milk unions, pharmaceutical and feed industries, private veterinary practice, research, teaching etc.
1. Completed 10+2 in science stream with Physics, Chemistry, Biology/ Mathematics.
2. The eligibility is at least 50% in aggregate in 10+2.
3. Qualified in NEET exam for admission to veterinary programs in India.
4. No age limit.
5. College students must get accustomed to certain fitness level as it is required by institution policy.
