The Bachelor of Veterinary Science (BVSc) in Animal Nutrition is a 4.5-year undergraduate degree program focused on the nutritional needs and feeding of livestock and companion animals. As a subject offered in the veterinary college curriculums in India, the primary objective of the BVSc Animal Nutrition program is to endow students with the know-how to analyse animal feed ingredients, determine balanced rations and, overall, food plans for various animal species and subsets, and advise the livestock farms and the owners of their domestic pets on what constitutes optimal animal nutrition. 

The 4.5-year BVSc Animal Nutrition course curriculum includes topics like biochemistry, feed technology, animal physiology and metabolism, nutrition-related diseases and deficiencies, feed analysis, ration formulation, and nutritional management practices. The students not only study but also get the opportunity to do incubator based practical training and lab work, clinical rotations and research projects to apply their academic learning. The program also includes an internship focused specifically on hands-on animal nutrition work in the final semester. 

BVSc Animal Nutrition Admission Process

1. Will require marks 50% in 10+2 physics, chemistry, biology as course subjects.

2. Appear for national/state level entrance exams like NEET/State CETs

3. Indicted applicants, through counseling process; are they able to apply for different courses.

4. Final admission based on entrance exam scores, 12th marks, counseling rank

5. Course term is 4.5 years with internship.

6. Fees range from INR 1-5 lakhs per annum depending on college.

BVSc Animal Nutrition Eligibility

 1. Candidate must have acquired a 10+2 education or its equivalent with subjects of Physics, Chemistry, Biology and English with minimum 50% aggregate marks from a board which is approved.

2. The candidate should have appeared for national level veterinary entrance exams like NEET, AIPVT, etc and qualified as per the cut-off scores and rankings. 

3. 17 years is the minimum age and 25 years is the maximum age, which are in force on the admission cut-off date to be eligible for this course. There is age relaxation for reserved category candidates as per norms.

4. The candidate should receive a medical treatment and should not have any physical disabilities which could prevent the regular course completion and later career performance.

BVSc Animal Nutrition Entrance Exams

ICAR AIEEA: Indian Council of Agricultural Research All India Entrance Examination for Admission (ICAR AIEEA) includes sections on animal nutrition assessing candidates' knowledge of feed composition, digestion, metabolism, and nutritional requirements of livestock.

NEET: National Eligibility cum Entrance Test for BVSc is something that considers the animal nutrition and candidates' ability to answer such questions on dietary requirements, feed formulation, and nutritional management, all of which in veterinary practice.
