BVSc Animal Genetics & Breeding Admission 2024: Eligibility, Salary, Syllabus

3 Years
Full Time

The Bachelor of Veterinary Science in Animal Genetics and Breeding (BVSc) is a 4 & 1/2 years undergraduate crash program, which is specially designed to offer in-depth study on the genetics, breeding, and reproduction of farm animals such as cattle and buffaloes, poultry birds, sheep, goats, and pigs.

The curriculum includes courses in genetics, animal breeding, reproduction, biotechnology, statistics, animal nutrition, livestock production, and animal husbandry. In this class students learn the methods like embryo transfers, semen analysis and advanced reproductive techniques. There is also a focus on population genetics, quantitative genetics, molecular genetics, cytogenetics, genetic disorders, and the basics of genomics and bioinformatics as applied to livestock improvement.
