The Bachelor of Science degree in Botany is a 3-year long undergraduate course of academic study centered on the scientific investigation of plants. The students gain knowledge and understanding of all the various structural components and processes of a living organism, its physiology, taxonomy, ecology, cell biology, biochemistry, genetics, and so on.
The coursework consists of practice and theory classes. In year one, students take classes that deal with the basics of botany, chemistry, physics and math. In the upcoming two years, core abiotic subjects are dealt with in large extent such as plant anatomy, plant physiology, biochemistry, biotechnology, plant pathology, economic botany and plant ecology. Two highlights of college study concerns are full lab training and experimental research. In addition, there is a focus on studies conducted outside of the classroom.
