BSc in Anaesthetics Technology is a 3 – year undergraduate program that emphasizes on training students to be the assistants of the anesthesiologists in the administration of anesthesia during operations and also other medical procedures that require sedation. The curriculum is all about providing deep knowledge of human anatomy and physiology, pharmacology, physics the way it is related to anesthesia equipment, as well as the principles of anesthesia.
Patients take classes related to diverse types of anesthesia, airway maintenance, patient supervision, safety precautions in operating room, intensive care, and pain management skills. They gain skills by seeing and practicing certain clinical procedures during subject laboratory sessions on campus and patient care in hospitals. A list of the core abilities of the student includes preparing delivery systems for the anesthesia, assisting with intubation, administering the inhalational anesthetics, monitoring the vital signals, maintaining airways for the patient, recognizing the complications, and giving support to the recovery after anesthesia is administered.
