3 Years
Full Time

The Bachelor of Pharmacy (BPharm) is a 4-year long undergraduate degree course aimed at establishing the study of how medicines affect living organisms. Students glean core competencies in drugs, their chemical & biological nature, making them, formulating them, quality control, manufacturing, marketing, sales & ensuring their regulation.

The pharmacology component gives an in-depth discussion on how drugs and drug medications work and their effects on the body both side effects and benefits. It covers the following: drugs mechanisms of action, therapeutic use, contraindications, pharmacokinetics, and pharmacodynamics. Students get acquainted with the study of drug interactions within organism's systems and the body.

Bachelor of Pharmacy [B.Pharm] (Pharmacology) Overview 2024 FAQs

Pharmacology is the area of interest of drugs and their effects on organisms. It includes drug interactions, underlying mechanisms of action, therapeutic uses and adverse effects in order to provide safe and effective drug utilization.

Pharmacology, the science of drugs, provides information on how drugs interact with biological systems, helps to develop new medications, and optimizes therapy patients' safety and health.

Another branch of pharmacology is the clinical pharmacology together with pharmacokinetics, pharmacodynamics, toxicology, pharmacogenomics, and neuropharmacology which focuses on each specific aspect of drugs action and utilization.

BPharm programs mostly contrive Pharmacology using lecture, laboratory sessions, case and practical studies. Students master drug classifications, their mechanism of action, therapeutic uses, and side effects.

Alumni can seek jobs as pharmacists, clinical research assistants, sales representatives, regulatory affairs experts, toxicologists, and even go on to pharmacy, medicine, or research education.
