The BPharm in Pharmaceutics degree in India that is a four-year undergraduate program oriented towards the science and the technology of the dosage form design and manufacture has been introduced in the 1960s. In the course we deal with systems: pharmaceutics, pharmacognosy, pharmacology, pharmaceutical chemistry and pharmacy practice. 

The first three years consist of developing a solid background in these areas as well as mathematical, health, anatomical, and physiological sciences, health education, and communication skills. During the last year (4th year) student can have practical training in the form of internship at a pharmaceutical company or research lab to get work experience. Additionally to the students, students also have a thesis to be prepared for the pharmaceutical domain.

BPharm Pharmaceutics Course Eligibility 2024

1. 10+2 appeared with subjects of physics, chemistry, bio-science/maths from a recognized institution with minimum 50% aggregate marks.

2. Exams like GPAT, NIPER-JEE, as well other state/national level entrance exams also serve the same purpose (for those colleges taking the scores of these entrance exams).

3. Age 17 is the minimum admission age for all, taken on the 31st of December of the year of application.

4. At least a passing grade in physics, chemistry, biology/maths according to the university/college standards.

5. Language demand which involves the passing of English subject or qualifying with the English testing examination are as well required.

6. As part of admission process procedures, filling in domicile or nationality requirements as may be stipulated by state/central government authority.

7. Meeting the admissions requirements of the school which might be exit test, interview, aptitude assessment amongst others.

8. It is likely that if you are an NRI or an overseas student you will have to clear some entrance exams and college appropriate standards which are equivalent to completion of 10+2 level studies.


Bachelor of Pharmacy [B.Pharm] (Pharmaceutics) Entrance Exams

GPAT (Graduate Pharmacy Aptitude Test): National level examination conducted in India to measure the aptitude from the field of pharmacy.

NIPER JEE (National Institute of Pharmaceutical Education and Research Joint Entrance Examination): Entry examination for submission to M.Sc. pharmacy courses in NIPER institutes.

BITSAT (Birla Institute of Technology and Science Admission Test): Candidates appearing for BITS Pilani campus and its other campuses entrance exam for admission to BPharm program.

MHT CET (Maharashtra Common Entrance Test): State level entrance examination for admission to multiple vocational courses like pharmacy in Maharashtra.

AP EAMCET: Clinical pharmacy examination for admission into pharmacy courses of Andhra Pradesh state.
