The Bachelor of Computer Applications (BCA) is a 3-year undergraduate course in the IT arena that focuses on computer applications and computer science. Following the recognition of the need for IT and computer professionals in India, the beginning of the course was set in the early 1990s.
The CB curriculum involves providing the core theoretical and practical knowledge in the use of computers and IT applications as well as professional soft skills development. It is the core of the curriculum which deals with fundamental concepts in programming languages such as C, C++, Java, database management systems, networking, data structures, analysis and design of algorithms, operating systems and web developing technologies. Maths and accountancy are the two other subjects that are considered valuable allied subjects.
