St. Xavier’s College Mumbai is a well known self financed college which is an approved college under University of Mumbai. It was started in the year 1869 and has now got UGC recognition and has emerged as an ‘A++’ grade University as per the NAAC grading system. It is among the top ten Colleges in the country and according to NIRF ranking 2023 of college category St.Xavier’s College is on 9th position.

The institute provides education at the undergraduate level and postgraduate level students in faculties of Arts Science as well as Commerce. Bachelor degree programs include BA, BSc, BCom, BMM, BMS which are quite popular among students. Other courses offered by the university include those at postgraduate level for instance MSc, MA and MCom.

St. Xavier’s College Mumbai is a first-grade college under section 2(f) and 12 (B) of the UGC act and is an autonomous institution recognized by the University of Mumbai. The university provides undergraduate and postgraduate degree programs in science, arts, and commerce faculties. These are the main academically focused courses: the Bachelor of Arts (BA), the Bachelor of Science (BSc), the Bachelor of Commerce (BCom), the Bachelor of Mass Media (BMM), the Bachelor of Management Sciences (BMS), the Master of Science (MSc), and the Master of Commerce (MCom). 

BMM mass media and BMS management programs are two of the most recognized programs offered by the college. BSc courses are available in IT, computer science, microbiology, biotechnology, physics, chemistry, botanical science, zoological science, mathematics, and statistics. BA undergraduate courses comprise of economics, English, sociology, politics, philosophy and history, psychology and languages. BCom specializations include accounting, finance, management and banking specializations and others.

St. Xavier’s College Mumbai is one of the esteemed institutes which has a good track record for placements for students of different programs. Some of the reputed MNCs and Indian firms that visit our campus for campus placements are: Deloitte, EY, JP Morgan, HDFC Bank, ICICI Bank, Infosys etc. The maximum of salary offered in 2023 was up to 28 LPA while for the average salary it was in between 8-10 LPA. The overall placement ratio remains high ranging from 85% to 95% depending on the specific program offered.
