Arts can be defined as the study of man made objects intended to be visually appreciated for their beauty or emotional power and any human effort to create something that has cultural significance. It includes the creative drawings such as painting and sculpture, creative works in photography, literature works including novels, poetry, and plays, artistic performances in music, dance, theater, creative culinary and others. The history of arts goes back to paleolithic period where people used body painting, and made art in form of paintings on the walls of caves. Arts Courses in India Eligibility Criteria

1. The candidate must have passed 10+2 exam from any stream viz Science, Commerce and Arts with minimum 50% marks from a recognized board. 

2. For some courses there are no entrance examinations; any graduate can apply and the stream need not be specifically humanities, science or commerce. 

3. It is noteworthy that there are concessions given to the students belonging to the reserve category regarding cutoff percentage.

4. They may require certain subjects in 10+2 such as English as compulsory or optional in some courses.

5. This is normally tagged minimum 17 years and no maximum age.
