Panjab University Jaipur campus admissions are open for the PhD for the session 2024. In order to secure the seats, admission tests and interviews are being conducted for the students. Aspirants willing to apply should possess a postgraduate degree in the concerned subject with minimum 55% (50% for SC/ST/OBC) aggregation. It is a written test for admission where general research ability, domain knowledge, and analytical traits are evaluated. Candidates who scored well in the tests will be invited to come for an interview from the list provided above. This is done based on the academic achievement, entrance test scores as well as the interview that is conducted at the end. 

A candidate selected for this course is required to do courses offered in the first year that include research methods, computer applications, review of literature in the area, among others In the subsequent years, students will be assigned doctoral committee supervisors to develop research projects that will lead to the submission of PhD thesis. The shortest time of completing the PhD program is three years including coursework and the longest time is six years. Research or teaching assistantship in terms of financial aid may be offered depending on the merits of the candidate to scholars admitted for the PhD program in various departments. Minimum number of seats for admission to PhD in different subjects shall be informed along with the admission notice.

PU Jaipur Ph.D. Scholarship & Stipend 2024

1. Research students in the full-time mode are awarded scholarships and stipends by the Panjab University Jaipur for the Ph.D. programmes.
2. The scholarship amount is Rs. 18000/- per month plus HRA for the first two years and Rs., 20000/- per month plus HRA of next three years.
3. A contingency grant of Rs. 15000/- per annum for first two years and Rs. 20000/- per annum for next three years has been provided to meet expenses on books, stationary, chemicals, equipment and sundry items etc.
4. Only those students can apply who have qualified the NET/GATE along with a percentage of not less than 55% in post graduation.
5. This implies that there will be a written test and interview as the criteria for selecting the appropriate candidates.
6. Students must teach for at least 6 hours a week or for a department or do an equivalent amount of assistance work given.
7. It should be renewed each year on condition that the progress report from the supervisor is satisfactory.
