There are many subcategories in agriculture field like Organic farming, Agri business management, Food processing technology, sericulture, apiculture, aquaculture, etc. which come with few months certificate course to 2-year post graduate diploma and 4-year bachelor’s degree. The eligibility criteria mean passing the 10+2 examination in science or any other equivalent education. For masters, it is necessary to have a relevant Bachelor’s degree. Thus, practical experience in work related to agriculture or conducting of research projects, as well as results of qualifying examinations are also the criteria for admission.

JEE Agriculture: A common University entrance test for admission in BTech programme in agricultural engineering and technology conducted by NTA for admission in various universities in India.
ICAR AIEEA UG: Written test conducted by Indian council for agricultural research for the purpose of admission to first year undergraduate professional degree courses in agriculture, horticulture, forestry and fisheries.
OUAT Entrance: OUAT Orissa University of Agriculture and Technology conducts state level examination for admission to the undergraduate and post graduate courses in agriculture science, horticulture science and other relevant fields of the university.
RPET: RUVAS conducts a state level exam for students seeking admission to first semester BVSc and AH and other veterinary programs across various colleges in Rajasthan.
MCAER PG CET: Common entrance test conducted by Dr. Panjabrao Deshmukh Krishi Vidyapeeth, Akola for admission to postgraduate level courses in agriculture, agricultural and allied sciences of the university.

1. Find out the various agriculture programs offered and colleges that offer the various courses that you want to pursue. Highlight the differences such as programs offered, eligibility requirements, fees, etc.
2. Concisely, make sure to read the admission requirements based on exams, prerequisite courses, documents, etc. for the programs that you apply.
3. Ensure that you and apply to the various agriculture programs before closing date of application. Please complete the fields in the Application Form to the best of your abilities.
4. Ensure that you submit the university and/or college transcripts, admission tests, letters of recommendation, personal essays, etc.
5. If required sit for any entrance test as deemed necessary such as, an entrance agriculture aptitude test or interview among others.
6. After the admission decisions are made, confirm the admission to the agreed agriculture program by paying the confirmation fee and fulfilling any other formalities within the agreed time frame.
7. Ensure that you have made necessary financial preparation, acquire accommodation and ensure you have all the documents you need to join the program in agriculture.
1. The qualification required for admission to Bachelors’ degree course is 10+2 with Physics, Chemistry & Biology/Mathematics for degree courses like BSc Agriculture, BTech Agricultural Engineering, etc.
2. A Bachelor’s degree in agriculture or other related field for Master’s degrees such as M.Sc Agric, M.Tech in Agricultural engineering etc.
3. For PhD, Master degree in agriculture or any related field with minimum 55 percentages. Additional qualifying examination might also be necessary.
4. No age limit. There is no restriction on the eligibility of the candidates, whether they are fresh graduates, or those already in the workplace.
5. In addition, it is noteworthy that certain concessions with regard to the percentage of marks are available for the reserved category aspirants.
6. Aptitude, Knowledge and analysis test may be conducted through English, Mathematics, Agriculture, and General Awareness examination.
