The BEd in PE is a 2- year long full time education option and prepares students to be physical education teachers from the school level up to the highest grades of education. This course eligibility is attained by having a Bachelor's Degree in any physical health discipline including BPE, BPES, or BSc in Health and Physical Education.
The BEd Physical Education curriculum embraces the knowledge of sports, fitness, health education as well as the human anatomy and physiology, kinesiology, sports psychology, nutrition, the sports injuries and rehabilitation, the training methods, the officiating rules and regulations of various sports as its theoretical and practical aspects. It also touches on pedagogical methods of PE class development containing the lesson planning, class management, summative, and multimedia technology application in teaching PE.

1. Qualification-10+2 with percentage of 50 marks and being involved in National or State level sports competitions. An understanding of sports science and the theory of physical education at a more basic level is also need.
2. Entrance Exams: From conducting their own examinations, a philosophy and a way of studying pertinent to the philosophy are communicated. While some admit both sports challenges and written tests, others give sports trials priority.
3. Application: Applications are available from March to April each year. Apply online or offline. File during the admission process, for example, the documents such as 10+2 marks sheet, sports certificates, photos and so on.
4. Criteria for the Selected - The indicators to determine the recruitment are marked by the result of the written test, sports trial performance, educational qualifications and certificates. Merit list is prepared based on a score which is the total score.
5. Admission Process - Candidates have sessions of counselling upon the release of merit list. It is an absolute necessity for candidates to attend physically. Payment of the fees will be deemed the enrollment. Course starts in July-August.
1. In any diploma course with at least 50% marks from a university which is officially approved. Graduates in Physical Education are less likely to be picked by candidates as it is the optional subject.
2. Minimum number of marks (40% for reserved category candidates) on higher secondary examination or equivalent.
3. Passing the examination for the selection of BEd Physical Education organized by different colleges/universities. The multitudinous entrance examinations which are popular are DUET, CUCET, JMI, etc.
4. The fulfillment if such fitness standards as medical examination, a long distance run, some skill in sports and games, height-weight requirements, etc. Some athletes are excused from the abovementioned tests because of their exceptional achievements in sport.
5. A number of the universities have the upper and lower age limits for the applicants of the BEd Physical Education at the age rank of 17-30 years.
CTET (Central Teacher Eligibility Test): Nation-wide examination for recruitment of teachers. In papers -II, the applicants will be shortlisted for teaching classes from VI to VIII and the specialized subjects such as Physical Education.
TET (Teacher Eligibility Test): A state-level examination for teaching permit. The paper-II serves the function of testing secondary school Physical Education teachers' competence.
