The Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering (GATE) is conducted by the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) on behalf of the National Coordination Board to assess comprehension of various undergraduate subjects in Engineering/Technology/Architecture/Science/Commerce/Arts. To be eligible for GATE 2024, the applicant must hold a Bachelor's degree in Engineering/Technology/ Architecture/Science/Commerce/Arts. Candidates in the third or higher years of these programs can also apply. There is no age limit. Candidates who have completed or are pursuing post-graduate degrees can also apply.

The GATE 2024 exam will reserve seats for candidates belonging to Scheduled Castes (SC), Scheduled Tribes (ST), Other Backward Classes (OBC), Economically Weaker Sections (EWS), and Persons with Disabilities (PwD).
