Masters in commerce commonly known as M.Com (Business Management) is a postgraduate course in management offering knowledge on current and vital theories of business, management and commerce. This course is usually taken for 2 years, 4 semester in case of semester based system of education. Undergraduate curriculum gives the students a good conceptual and analytical understanding of core business disciplines including Accounting, Economics, Marketing, Finance, Human Resource, Operations and IT. They are able to understand the practical usage of management theories for addressing business issues and decision-making processes. It contributes to the production of competent business leaders and researchers who can effectively assume managerial positions or proceed to PhD programs.
The entrance test acceptable by various institutes offering M.Com (Business Management) includes CAT, MAT, XAT, CMAT, ATMA, GMAT, NMAT by GMAC, KMAT, SNAP, JMET, TANCET, MAH MBA/MMS CET, KCET, AMU, BHU, DU JAT etc. Graduation scores are also another common area, which many colleges consider during their selection process of the candidates. Candidates should also verify the requirements of the college/s they want to apply, as these may vary from the generic list above, in terms of exam specifics for admission. Certification in these standardized tests followed by GD/PI decide the final selection.
