In1923 Rashtrasant Tukadoji Maharaj Nagpur University came into existence as a public state university located in Nagpur Maharashtra. Featuring more than 800 colleges which are affiliated to the university, it enables undergraduate and postgraduate studies under faculties of science, arts, commerce, law, and education. An academic year is divided into two semesters and the university examinations are automated at the end of each semester. Differing dates for the MCA program in December, and May; and for the BBA in October and March, semester exams are conducted. A Study program of the MCA is a 3-year computer and IT approach to students. The 3-year BBA program is devoted to management disciplines and its 4-year P-E curriculum is entirely devoted to the engineering field. The 2024 admission process will commence next May. Undergraduate candidates who want to enroll in my university will have to register their personal details online, and then take the university's entrance exam and go through the personal interview rounds. The score in the national/ regional entrance tests is included in the admission committee’s decisions for the PG. The end date for the 2024 student registration is the second week of June 2023.

- For undergraduate programs, the student must hold a 10+2 degree/equivalent certificate that is recognised by a board of education. Aggregate marks point varies from program to program but remain the same in all programs.
- Undergraduate and postgraduate programmes are different requirements for the students to have a bachelor's degree with a minimum percentage score again different depending on the program.
- For some of the programs, other eligibilities like entrance exams may also be a requirement.
- Some relaxations and exclusions in qualification criteria for a reserved category student are as per the rules of the education ministry.
- The prospect of international students requires them to satisfy specific conditions of eligibility by their own countries. This involves the recognition of foreign degrees and certifications, or qualifying Spanish language tests in some cases.
- Besides the students who are entering college for the first time, the university admissions committee is faced with a task of checking on the transcripts of the students who are transferring from other colleges to make sure that these students meet some of the criteria regarding the past academic performance and the credits for being eligible for admission.

- Admission process opens up the doors to numerous undergraduate and postgraduate programs belonging to different streams like humanities, science, business studies, law, and management etc.
- In undergraduate college admissions, marks acquired by the students in their grade 11 and/or 12 board exams are the primary criteria. The cut-off marks announced by the university for different programs are for the consideration of the candidate.
- For postgraduate courses, college or state/ national exams are used. For example, Massachusetts college entrance examination (MCAT), and MAH-MBA/MMS-CET is used for MBA/MMS courses. Sometimes they also consider previous academic performance also.
- The University website has an online application portal which students are expected to sign up to and submit their application as per the notifications advising of the admission.
- Scores of 10^{th}/12^{th} mark sheets, entrance exam score cards, caste certificates (if applicable) are among the relevant documents that need to be uploaded to the portal by students as a part of the application process.
- Seats are assigned within stages of counseling which are based on entrance tests rankings, academic records, vacancy and reservation rules as well.
