National Institute of Technology (Warangal) (NIT, Warangal or NITW) is a public technical university seated in the town of Warangal, which is in Telangana, India. The institute was founded as Regional Engineering College in 1959 later upgraded to the National Institute of Technology in 2002 and finally to the status of Deemed University in the following year.
NIT, Warangal is one such NIT which is well-known as there are 31 NITs established by the Government of India providing with courses on engineering, science, management and humanities at both undergraduate and graduate levels. It is a National Institute and stands out against others. Expanded on 250 acres, NIT Warangal has 13 departments, academics departments, 150 faculty members and approximately 5,500 students.

NIT Warangal Eligibility Criteria 2024
1. For B.tech programs - you must have passed 10+2 with at least 75% marks (80% for SC/ST) in physics, chemistry, and mathematics.
2. For M.tech – The discipline is crucial and should be awarded with a minimum of 60% marks. With a reduction of 5%, SC/ST category students of all our classes will also follow the same rule. Also, certain classes could be made available after ensuring a GATE validation.
3. For the MS programs - Bachelor's degree in respective professional field from any recognized university with minimum of 55 % marks.
4. In systematic programs Ph.D (Masters degree in related field obtained) at least 60% marks or equivalent CGPA is a must. Some of the courses have GATE/NET exam scores as a prerequisite for sure.
