- For BTech programs: Must have passed 12th level (or their equivalent) with at least 75 percent marks (65 percent for SC/ST candidates) allotted to physics-chemistry-math.
- For Dual Degree (BTech + MTech) programs: Regarding the BTech qualification criteria, it will be the same as that of BTech program. Another point to be kept in consideration while selecting candidates for admission in JEE Advanced is the acquisition of a proper score in JEE Mains.
- For MTech programs: Have a Bachelor degree from relevant discipline and score at least 60% marks (55% for SC/ST/PwD candidates). Moreover requirement of the valid GATES score is compulsory.
- For MSc programs: Bachelor's degree in chosen discipline is a prior. At least 60% marks with 55% relaxation for SC/ST/PwD candidates at graduation level.
- For PhD: B.E/B.Tech in relevant specialization from a recognized university with 60% marks or above. A candidate is normally demanded to have a legitimate GATE/NET mark.
- 5% relaxation will be given to Non-Resident Indians or children of MNIT/staff for BTech and Dual Degree programs.
- Maximum age limit should be 23 years for all programs and the relaxed age limit of up to 3 years are for reserved category quota.

1. Usually a candidate applying for a BT in MNIT is selected through the JEE Main exam. First of all, planning and scheduling is something that the students need to take care of. They ought to clear JEE Main and the prescribed marks.
2. Among various others, JEE Main marks will account for 40% of the total weightage. As a minimum requirement of MNIT, 12th marks (pass percentage) are considered.
3. The seats are been booked for specific categories such as OBC, SC, ST, PWD and so on according to government norms.
4. Mainly after the successful completion of JEE Main, MNIT would also convey opening and closing ranks in some different courses. Students have to correlate the latter to the programs-specific ranks they are fit to join.
