Jawaharlal Nehru Architecture and Fine Arts University or JNAFAU is a state university in the city of Hyderabad in Telangana, India and focuses on architectural and fine art programs. JNAFAU, which was set up in the year 2008, is fully accredited by the University Grants Commission (UGC) of India and is recognized by the All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE). Currently, the university holds a National Association of Academic of Colleges and Universities NAAC accreditation grade ‘A’ with a cumulative grade point average CGPA of 3.05 on a 4 point scale. In the NIRF Ranking that was declared recently for the year 2023, JNAFAU holds the 36th position in the architecture colleges in India.
They include First Degree, Post Graduate, masters and doctoral programmes in architectural studies, planning, fine arts and design. Some of major courses are Bachelors in Architecture, Masters in Architecture, Bachelors and Masters in Design, Bachelors and Masters in Planning, Fine arts, fashion designing and many more. The admission process usually begins early May of the year for the following academic year. There are different admission procedures that one has to meet for getting admitted to the respective B.Arch courses such as the National level Aptitude Test in Architecture (NATA) in addition to the merit obtained in qualifying examinations. Some of the important examination dates for 2024 admission are NATA is going to held on 12-04-2023 & 03-05-2023. Training & Placement Cell is responsible for providing internship and placements to the students of University. The following are also available for students at JNAFAU: Job oriented certificate programmes are also available for the students.
Due to specially designed curriculum, training opportunities and industry oriented concept, most of the JNAFAU students are placed in the best renowned architectural, designing and construction firms in India. The firms that hire such professionals include DLF, L&T, Hafeez Contractor, Tafe Architects, Venus Homes and Charles Correa Associates among others. The placement salary offered to BArch graduates varies between ? 3.5 lakhs – ? 5 lakhs per annum. These recruitment companies also provide internship placements to students the JNAFAU during their course works. While the placement record of the 2022 batch of pass outs hovers around 83% as per the available reports.
