The Combined Oversight Application Program (COAP) exam is a standardized assessment deployed by various government agency and department for prescreening of prospective candidates and applicants. The purpose of the job is to assess the competencies such as mental skills, writing skills, critical thinking, and decision-making that are a prerequisite for the civil service job positions. In contrast to the traditional essay and exam, the computer-based multiple choice exam format is applied for 3 hours.
The COAP test is based on the logic skills in the areas of logical analysis, interpretation, evaluation and transformation of information and firmly establishes ones behavioural aspects and interests and how they align with the demand of the public services. Applicants will get reports in which their given percentile of the competency areas tested in the examination would be shown to them. The score given is valid for three years and can reveal more about people to participating agencies for the purpose of background check or hiring.
At the same time, it is expected that COAP tests in the year 2024 will be made at the beginning of February, May, August and November, respectively. Often test results are released within 6 working weeks after placement testing. The exact examination dates of 2024 will be release in the official COAP website in November 2, 2023 together with the registration information, test centers, payment procedures, and other relevant details for the candidates who are eligible for the COAP 2024 exam.
