Bachelor of Commerce (B.Com) Professional is a professional course in the field of commerce and business. This is a full time course for candidates and takes three years to produce business personnel with accountancy, finance and management expertise. Business core subjects like financial accounting, business statistics and business management are part of the core subjects while subjects like auditing, marketing, operations of the stock exchange, etc., are practical and professional subjects The students are provided with both conceptual knowledge as well as professional training so that they can fit into different domains of business. The goal of the program is to produce business professionals who are competent, skilled, and flexible to meet the challenges in the contemporary business environment.
Elementary information reveals that there is no entrance exam for admission in B.Com Professional program. It is generally done depending on the performance of the candidate in his or her final year of school or 12th boards result. Despite this, some colleges take writing test and also have their own round of interviews. Other qualifying tests at national / state level such as CUET, SET etc also qualify for admission or entrance examination exemption based on the norms of the institute in question, and same is the case with scores in IPMAT, NPAT, etc. Another factor that influences the admission process is the overall academic performance of the candidate together with their extra co curricular activities.
